American Blood

This letter is paid content. Anyone who doesn’t live in right wing fantasyland knows by now that Donald Trump is a liar, an adulterer, a bully, a draft dodger, and is utterly selfish, self-centered, and corrupt.

He probably will be remembered as the greatest conman in American history.

Once he is out of office he is likely to face charges of bank fraud, tax fraud, insurance fraud, and money laundering. He is already named as an unindicted co-conspirator in campaign finance violations.

We have recently observed the nineteenth anniversary of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on our nation. Approximately three thousand people were murdered. By the end of this year it is likely that American deaths from Covid-19 will easily exceed 300,000. This is one hundred times more people than were killed on 9/11/01.

The bulk of these deaths were avoidable. But thanks to the utterly incompetent leadership of Donald Trump that is where we are at.

Could you imagine any American political leader praising al-Qaeda in the aftermath of 9/11? But now we have supine Republican politicians who refuse to criticize this grossly unfit President.

This is true at both the federal and the state level. Locally we have three such state officials; Baker, Miller, and Lang. In their silence they are complicit in the crimes and the failings of this President.

They even have the gall to talk about law and order when the lawlessness and disorder are emanating from Donald Trump.

The suffering of the American people will be with them forever. The blood of thousands of  Americans will be on their hands forever. And it can never, ever be washed away.

They may well win reelection. But there will come a time when they are no longer in office. They will live their lives and be forever linked in history to this evil man they supported or were too afraid to oppose.

Perhaps, like their leader, they are absolutely without a conscience. So perhaps they really don’t care.

We deserve better. Our great nation deserves better.
