Spicer Sunrise Lion Craig Schellberg is doing a 100-mile bike ride to benefit the Lions Clubs International Foundation, which is a 105(c)3 charity.
He is riding the trails from St. Joseph to Fergus Falls on Saturday, June 4.
Schellberg has been the district LCIF chair for the past four years, and he is very passionate about what the foundation supports worldwide as well as locally.
The global focus areas of the Lions Clubs International Foundation are: hearing, vision, diabetes, hunger, childhood cancer and environment.
Locally, grants from the foundation have supported club volunteers in New London-Spicer schools with cameras which are able to detect eye problems in preschool and older children screenings. Referrals to an eye professional are then made to address problems early.

The Spicer Sunrise club also has the gas station beverage recycle barrels and the aluminum can recycling trailer near Little Crow Marine. They appreciate donations of your aluminum cans, which we redeem after sorting and then flattening them. The latest redemption was over two tons. Those funds are brought back to the community in scholarships for high school graduates, as well as the support given to other local, regional and global causes.
Donations to the Foundation can be made by check (to LCIF) or online to LCIF.org or texted to 888-801-5959 and enter LCIF. Get more information by texting or calling 320-894-6843 or emailing spicerlioncraig@gmail.com or by mail to Lion Craig, 6233 97th Ave NE, Spicer MN 56288.
