WILLMAR — Graduating seniors from Community Christian School in Willmar received a special surprise visit from teachers and staff on Friday to bring some smiles to their last days of high school.

Schools across the state closed their doors to students in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, many graduating seniors do not have the opportunity to participate in typical senior events.

The teachers and staff members gave the graduating seniors at CCS a yard sign, a senior T-shirt and took their photo.

"We wanted to encourage them during this time and give them some smiles," Lisa Strom, CCS principal and academic director, said.
