ST. CLOUD — The Willmar girls cross-country team won its fourth meet in five tries and the Cardinal boys took second Tuesday in the Granite City Invitational at Boulder Ridge Golf Club.
The Willmar girls scored 17 points to beat Bemidji (48) and host St. Cloud Tech (71).
Bemidji’s boys scored 21 points to finish ahead of Willmar (46) and Tech (70).
“With three meets in the final 10 days of the season, our girls packed up today for the first part of the meet, so we were happy with the results,” Willmar head coach Jerry Popp said. “We should get more of a test when we see Rocori for the first time on Saturday.”
Eighth-grader Lauren Eilers won the girls’ 5-kilometer race in 19 minutes, 53.8 seconds. Twin sister Erin Eilers was second in 20:07.0 and junior Nina Dawson was third in 20:23.4.

Ninth-grader Lyndi Koosman (21:01.1) was fifth and ninth-grader Becca Dawson (21:12.8) was sixth for the Cardinals.
Bemidji senior Nathan Alto won the boys’ race in 16:20.31.
Eighth-grader Sully Anez was Willmar’s top finisher, taking third in 16:56.55.
Willmar is host to a triangular at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eagle Creek Golf Club. Rocori and Tech are also running.
