WILLMAR - The Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra will present "Fish Tales," a concert for the whole family, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at the Willmar Education and Arts Center. This is the orchestra's annual benefit concert for the Kandiyohi County Food Shelf and a freewill donation will be taken at the concert.

Kevin Kling, a well-known playwright and storyteller, will join the orchestra as the narrator for "The Burning Wisdom of Finn McCool" by Victor Zupanc. Kling does commentary on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered" and Minnesota Public Television's "Almanac." In "The Burning Wisdom of Finn McCool," a young Celtic boy learns some wisdom from "the wisest man in all of Ireland, Finnigus, the poet" as he wrestles the catch of the day. Join the orchestra's journey down rivers and across oceans from Handel's "Water Music Suite" to "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Tickets are available in advance at Whitney Music in Willmar, online at www.willmarorchestra.com, or at the door; adults $10, students $5, children under 5 admitted free, the family pack is $25 for 2 adults and unlimited children.

A slightly condensed version of the concert will be presented on Friday, March 1, to all of the third-grade students from Willmar Public Schools, as well as the Renville County West, KMS, Central Minnesota Christian School, MACCRAY and Paynesville schools. This is the third year in a row the Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra has been able to present a concert for the schools.
