BIRD ISLAND - Siama Matuzungidi and Dallas Johnson brought the rural Congolese soukous sound to Bird Island Wednesday to kick off Bird Island Days at the Bird Island Cultural Centre. The duo performed songs and stories for children using traditional African instruments like the mbira and the balafon.

The duo will be visiting multiple locations across the region through June 29.
