WILLMAR — The Barn Theatre presents “Escanaba In Da Moonlight,” opening Sept. 16 and running through Sept. 26.
When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family’s Upper Peninsula camp in Michigan, 35-year-old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in the history of the Soadys never to bag a buck.
In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, written by comedian Jeff Daniels, “Escanaba In Da Moonlight” spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.
Directed by Thomas Rosengren, the cast members are Ace Bonnema, Jeffery Caperton, Gene Gatewood, Matthew Onnen, Claire Schiller and Jordan Taylor.
Allen Clark is the stage manager and Mara Lambert is the assistant stage manager. Eric Harp is running the lights and Bob Thompson, Brianna Caperton and Melissa Mangen are on the sound board. Set design is by Aane Twedt.
Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16-18 and 23-25 with 2 p.m. matinees Sept. 19 and 26.
Tickets are available on the Barn Theatre website or from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the box office.
