WILLMAR — Blank canvases sitting on easels in the art room Tuesday afternoon were quickly filled with colors of spring as nine young artists began painting their rendition of an Easter bunny. The event was an after-school "canvas in the classroom" activity at Community Christian School in Willmar.

Lead by Alli Freiborg, whose Gallery on the Go business provides supplies and instruction for art projects for children and adults, the paintings were all completed in about two hours. Freiborg has done classes for a variety of entities, including businesses, community organizations, birthday parties and women's groups.

This was the third holiday class Freiborg offered at CCS this school year.

The elementary-aged girls in this class followed Freiborg's instructions, but added their own interpretations to the project.

At the end of the session each participant left with their completed work of bunny art, just in time for Easter weekend.
