WILLMAR - The Minneapolis band Arch Allies will highlight the Rockin' Robbins outdoor concert series tonight at Robbins Island Regional Park in Willmar.

The free event opens at 5 p.m. and winds up at 9 p.m. This is the second concert in the popular summer series sponsored by the Willmar Rotary Club

Vocalist Ava Hanson will be featured as the opening act, starting at 5 p.m. Hanson's roots are in New London and Spicer. She has been seen on the concert circuit across Minnesota the last few years, including the Minnesota State Fair.

Arch Allies will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. Billed as one of America's premier tribute shows, the band features the classic rock of Journey, Styx, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon and Boston.

Arch Allies has toured from Florida to Washington state and from Mexico to Canada with performances for everything from event entertainment to fairs, festivals and casinos.

The concert venue includes on-site food vendors, children's activities and a beer and wine tent. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.

A free shuttle service will stop every 15 minutes between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. at the park-and-ride locations at the Willmar Civic Center, First Covenant Church and the Willmar Middle School. Parking at Robbins Island is limited so visitors are encouraged to use the shuttle.

Proceeds from the Rockin' Robbins concert series are used to support the ongoing revitalization of Robbins Island Regional Park.

Upcoming concert dates are July 30, featuring the music of Hitchville, and Aug. 6, an Eagles tribute show by the Fabulous Armadillos and Collective Unconscious.
