WILLMAR — The country band Hitchville, with lead vocalists Heidi Owens and Matthew Kneefe, will be taking the Rockin' Robbins stage at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
The band has opened for some of country music's biggest stars, including Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, as well as played at large music festivals like Moondance Jam and WE Fest.
Hitchville is known for its group harmonies, stage energy and instrumental solos, made possible by band members Kris Stauffer, Martial Besombes, Tait Cameron, Brett LaCasse and Michael Johnson.
Opening tonight's show is Michael Shynes, an act that draws from a wide range of musical genres, including folk, pop, rhythm and blues and country. Shynes will start at 5 p.m.
Tonight's concert is the third of four Rockin' Robbins events scheduled for this summer. The free event is a fundraiser for Robbins Island and is put on by the Willmar Rotary Club. In addition to the good music, concert goers can also purchase and enjoy many food and beverage options. There is also the Foot Lake Market and the Beer and Wine Tent.
A free park and ride shuttle will begin shuttling the public to Robbins Island at 4:30 p.m. The shuttle will run every 15 minutes until 9:30 p.m. The three stops are the Willmar Civic Center, First Covenant Church and Willmar Middle School.
