WILLMAR - To get a new battery for your iPhone 6, 6s SE or 7 for $29 from Apple, you either have to bring your phone to an Apple store or an authorized service provider. There is also the option to mail the phone directly to Apple, but there is a $7 shipping fee.
The Apple support website - support.apple.com - can assist an iPhone owner in finding the nearest location to obtain a new battery. You'll have to log into your account and then enter your location and cell phone carrier. The site will then give you a list of the nearest Apple stores or authorized dealers from your current location.
According to the Apple support site, there are no local authorized dealers in the Willmar area who can replace the battery in-house for the major carriers including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The nearest options are in the Twin Cities.
Regardless of the cell carrier, the Apple stores at Ridgedale Mall, Southdale Mall, Uptown, the Mall of America and Rosedale Center, as well as the Best Buy in Richfield, can replace iPhone batteries. Those who use Sprint have more choices, as the Sprint stores in St. Cloud, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, Coon Rapids, Mankato and Edina can also do the work.
Appointments have to be made and there could be a waiting list.

iPhone users could also go to a third-party phone repair business to get the battery replaced. In Willmar there is Gadget Guys, which lists several iPhone repairs it can do, including replacing the battery.
"We've been doing a lot of them," said Rollie Goulson, owner of Gadget Guys.
Gadget Guys is not an authorized Apple service provider, but offers a 90-day warranty on all parts and labor. The price to replace an iPhone battery, for all models, is $40, Goulson said. He said those needing a new battery can visit gadgetguyswireless.com, call 320-444-6421 or stop by the store at 741 1st St. S. in Willmar.
