SPICER — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting to discuss a possible special regulation on Kandiyohi County’s Green Lake, which would lower the walleye possession limit to three. Minnesota’s statewide possession for walleye is six.
DNR Fisheries is proposing the special regulation to spread out the harvest to more anglers, and help meet the current lake management plan. Green Lake has had zebra mussels present since 2014. Zebra mussels alter the water clarity and habitat for walleye and other species.
The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Dethlefs Community Center, 217 Hillcrest Ave., Spicer (located behind the Green Lake Mall).
Those unable to attend the public meeting may submit written comments to:

Comments will also be accepted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org; or by telephone at 320-796-2161.
All comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 30.
Public comments will also be accepted during an open house from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the DNR Central Office, located at 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN.
