Melissa Catherine Johnson and Phillip Charles Olson are engaged to be married on June 7 in Spicer.
Melissa is the daughter of Janell and Keith Johnson of Atwater.
She graduated from ACGC High School and from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo., with a degree in chemical engineering. She earned her doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota. She works in research for the University of Minnesota. Phillip is the son of Julie and Wayne Olson of Faribault.
He graduated from Faribault High School and from Minnesota State University in Mankato with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed as a mechanical engineer/quality control by North American Gear & Forge in Brooklyn Park.
