IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS
***This may affect your 2021 property taxes***
The Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Willmar in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, will meet from Noon to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Willmar Fire Department Meeting Room. (Please note the location change!) The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office. Due to the COVID-19 situation and staff working remotely, the County Assessor requests all appeals of value or classification be directed via email at assessor@kcmn.us to discuss your concerns and reduce the need for public gatherings. All appeals will be heard by the Board and acted on just as if a person were present. If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of Appeal and Equalization. The board will review your assessments and make corrections as needed. Generally, you must appeal to the local board before appealing to the county Board of Appeal and Equalization.
