REPORTS
1.Business and Finance - Mrs. Haase reported enrollment is 4,090 as of May 7, 2021. Mrs. Haase has started working on next year's original budget and preparing for year-end.
2.Human Resources - Mrs. Windingstad reported working on staffing with needing to focus on Special Education Teachers. All retro pay and pay adjustments have taken place for all staff approved at the last meeting except for the custodial group; it will be completed by June 30th. Staff Wellness Committee has wrapped up for the year.
3.Teaching & Learning - Mrs. Thomas reported the Teaching and Learning Cabinet met to continue to work on a District-wide Comprehensive Needs Assessment to determine district priorities moving forward. The MCAs (Minnesota's State Accountability Assessments) will be completed next week.
4.Superintendent - Dr. Holm announced ALC graduation ceremony will be on May 20th. Focus House diploma ceremony will be on June 1st. Commencement is on June 6th.
ACTION ITEMS
1.Adopt Resolution Accepting Gifts/Donations - Motion by Justin Bos, seconded by Scott Thaden to accept the donation from Give MN ($45 - Gifts and Grants, Lakeland), Gene Haas Foundation ($8,000 - Activities and Scholarships- Robotics, Super Mileage, Scholarships), Hormel Financial Services Corp. ($200 - ECFE to go boxes), Willmar Kiwanis Club ($4,000 - Cardinal Place in Roosevelt, Lakeland and Kennedy), Darlene Schroeder (19 violins and violas (value of $2,375) - Elementary Orchestra Program), Christopher & Carla Buzzeo ($150 - National Speech Entrants Fee, Speech Student Activity Fund), Duininck Incorporated ($2,500 - Child Guides Program), Chappell Central, Inc ($500 - Child Guides Program), Southwest Initiative Fund ($1,000 - Child Guides Program). 2.Resolution Canvassing Results of Special Election - Motion by Jay Lawton, seconded by Mary Amon to adopt the Resolution Canvassing the votes of the School Board Election, which elected Randy Frederickson to fill the vacancy in term expiring January 2, 2023. Motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote. Randy Frederickson abstained. (A copy of the Resolution is available in the District Office)
3.Resolution Authorizing Issuance of Certificate - Motion by Tammy Barnes, seconded by Scott Thaden to adopt the Resolution Authorizing Issuance of Certificate of Special Election and Directing School District Clerk to Perform Other Election Related Duties. Motion carried with a 7-0 roll call vote. (A copy of the Resolution is available in the District Office)
4.Nonrenewal of Probationary Teachers - Motion by Scott Thaden, second by Jay Lawton to approve the Resolution Relating to the Nonrenewal of Probationary Teachers. Motion carried with a 7-0 roll call vote. (A copy of the Resolution is available in the District Office)
5.Rescind Policy 808 - Face Coverings - Motion by Tammy Barnes, seconded by Mary Amon to rescind Policy 808 - Face Coverings. Motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote. Randy Frederickson abstained.
