KANDIYOHI COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR THE MINNWEST TECHNOLOGY RENOVATION PROJECT Notice is hereby given that the County Board of Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, will hold a public hearing, pursuant to Minnesota law, to consider granting a property tax abatement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Sections 469.1812 through 469.1815, for property currently owned by MinnWest Technology Campus Management Company LLC; and concerning the awarding of a business subsidy to MinnWest Technology Campus Management Company LLC, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sections 116J.993 to 116J.995. The property is located at Parcel Nos. 95-508-3000, 95-508-3010 and 95-508-3030. The proposed tax abatement program would grant an abatement of the increase in property taxes caused by the new development of the property. The total amount of the property tax abatement by the County is estimated to be $190,991 over a period of 10 years based on eligible development costs, projected values of the new development, and current property tax rates. The recipient of the proposed business subsidy is MinnWest Technology Campus Management Company LLC, and the purpose of the business subsidy is to facilitate the development of proposed renovations and improvements to Building #6, #7 and #15 at the MinnWest Technology Campus. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners Room at the Kandiyohi County Health & Human Services Building, located at 2200 23rd Street NE, Willmar, Minnesota, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, during the regular County Board Meeting which begins at 10:00 a.m. Members of the public may review a copy of the proposed tax abatement program, business subsidy agreement, and supporting documentation, prior to the public hearing, at the Office of the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission at 222 20th Street SE, Willmar, Minnesota. At the public hearing, all interested parties may appear and express their comments, either orally or in writing, for consideration by the County Board. Following the public hearing, the County Board will take action concerning the adoption or rejection of the proposed tax abatement program. A person with residence in or the owner of taxable property in the granting jurisdiction may file a written complaint with the County if the County fails to comply with Sections 116J.993 to 116J.995, and no action may be filed against the County for the failure to comply unless a written complaint is filed.
