Granite Area Arts Council
Granite Area Arts Council has several classes scheduled. Sign up for all classes at the K.K. Berge Gallery, 320-564-4240. All classes require pre-payment to reserve space and purchase supplies. Class size is limited, along with social restrictions. Registration deadline is one week prior to class. Late registration must contact the artist directly for permission.
Introduction to wood carving: Oct. 7, 6 to 8 p.m., $20, instructor Joe Hauger.
Carving knives outdoors: Oct. 8, 10 a.m. to noon, $20, next to walking bridge, instructor Joe Hauger.
Spore prints: Oct. 14, 6 to 8 p.m., $20, instructor Nicole Zemple.
Mushroom art: Oct. 15, 6 to 8 p.m., $20, instructor Nicole Zemple.

Make a Mandala: Oct. 21, 6 to 8 p.m. or Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to noon, $20, instructor Krystl Louwagie.
Whittling for Kids: Oct. 28, 5 to 5:45 p.m. or 6 to 6:45 p.m., $10, call for specific guidelines, instructor Joe Hauger.
David Pichaske: Nov. 4-5, “Finding Your Way,” A visit with author David Pichaske, no charge.
Cartoon You: Nov. 18, 6 to 8 p.m., or Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to noon, $20 includes supplies, instructor Krystl Louwagie.
Line Portraits: Dec. 9, 6 to 8 p.m., or Dec. 10, 6 to 8 p.m., $20, bring photo of upper body & face to class, 4x6 or 5x7, instructor Krystl Louwagie.
Milan Village Arts
Milan Village Arts still has one class with registration open. The complete schedule is on the website. Members receive a discount on tuition. Supply fees are paid to the instructor at the end of class. The art school has several studios. Check the website for studio dates and more information. Upcoming classes listed by registration deadline are:
Wood bowl turning: Oct. 24-25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; instructor Steve Mullins; beginner and above, learn the basic skills needed to turn a wooden bowl from “green” unseasoned wood; tuition $230, supplies $45; registration deadline Oct. 10.
Silver Studio: open to all those that have taken beginning silversmithing and are MVAS members. Fee is $10 for evening and $20 for all day.

Weaving Studio: open to those with experience with looms or have taken the weaving rugs class and are MVAS members; by appointment or join a weaving group, no fee, looms are maintained with warp at no cost.
Framing Studio: a fully-functional framing workshop open to those taking the framing workshop and are MVAS members; $5 hour, $10 for half day, $20 full day, by appointment only.
