Studios open Friday through Sunday
The sixth annual Meander -- Upper Minnesota River Art Crawl will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Meander is a regional self-guided "trip on a tank full" tour of artist studios, galleries and shops featuring more than 33 studios and 45 artists from Madison to Montevideo and Ortonville to Granite Falls and all points in between. The event is free and open to the public.
There are eight new artists displaying work in the Meander this year, including jewelry maker Barb Ash and pottery artist Mark Mustful who will exhibit at the Red Barn which is located overlooking Big Stone Lake seven miles north of Ortonville. Also new to the Meander this year is sculptor Douglas Holtquist who will be exhibiting at the historic Columbian Hotel in downtown Ortonville.
Diane Trew brings her weaving to the Meander in her exhibit at the Swift Weavers studio on Atlantic Avenue in Benson; fiber artist Ann Fernholz will be exhibiting at Ann's Sewing room in Madison; photographer Gene Stukel will have an exhibit at the newly remodeled F & M insurance building in downtown Granite Falls.

Wood artist Myron Kuno will exhibit his unique work at his home studio 5 miles east of Montevideo while printer/illustrator/songwriter Patrick Moore will show his work at the CURE office in downtown Montevideo.
Evening events for the Meander weekend include a local food and music event from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at the old Milan school and a concert featuring Chuck Suchy at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Auditorium in Dawson.
