For the seventh time in seven years, Kenny Chesney is playing the Red River Valley - assuming a report on the country music star's Web site is accurate.

Chesney's home page lists Fargo as the June 20 stop on his upcoming "Sun City Carnival Tour," which includes openers Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum. The on-sale date for tickets wasn't stated.

Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik said nothing is written in stone - or in contract, for that matter - though he did confirm the dome has been in negotiations to land a Chesney show.

"Nothing's been confirmed paperwork-wise at this time," Sobolik said Wednesday afternoon. He said negotiations haven't touched on potential ticket prices.

It would be the seventh time that Chesney, the Country Music Association entertainer of the year three years running, has played the area since 2003, including three WE Fests and dome concerts in 2005 and 2007. The dome shows drew 16,284 in 2007 and 17,132 in 2005.

He's not just popular up in these parts. Chesney was the biggest-drawing performer in the U.S. in 2008, according to industry publication Pollstar, bringing in more than 1 million fans. In terms of revenue, Chesney came in fourth with $72.2 million in ticket sales.
