Morris

UM-Morris telescope available for public use, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday; located on the fourth floor of the science building; dome is unheated and open to the sky; kids are welcome; last-minute cancellations due to weather at http://cda.mrs.umn.edu/~kearnsk/Telescope/PubObs.htm .

Outdoors

Prairie Woods ELC

The cross country ski trails are open from 8 a.m. to sunset; rental skis available for $12 a day for non-members; 320-354-5894 for more information.

Sibley State Park

Interpretive Center open during the week; call 320-354-2002 for hours.

Sibley State park programs are on the weekends at the Interpretive Center and are led by the park naturalist or visiting expert. A vehicle permit is required to enter the park and they are available at the park office. For more information call 320-354-2002.

Winter trails: Nordic skiing and snowmobile trails are groomed, weather permitting. The trail center in the lower level of the Interpretive Center is open 24 hours a day. There is a warming room, bathrooms and water fountain. A cross country ski pass is required for age 16 and older.

Willmar Junior High

Open swimming: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday; $2 per person; enter through east locker room doors.

Willmar Civic Center

Skating will be either in the Civic Center or the Blue Line Arena; $2 for all ages; $1.50 skate rental, unless otherwise stated.

Youth open hockey, grades 2 through 7: noon to 1 p.m. Saturday; parents welcome to skate along free.

Open curling, age 8 and older: 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday; stones and brooms provided.
