WILLMAR -- The Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club presents a special mid-season figure skating extravaganza at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Willmar Civic Center.

The "Holiday Santa on Skates" show will be filled with humor, fun, skating to great holiday songs and perhaps a few surprises. Freestyle skaters will present "The Nutcracker in a Nutshell," a condensed version of the Nutcracker ballet.

The show will raise funds for the club's scholarship program for skating lessons. All audience members who bring skates will be welcome on the ice -- with Santa -- after the show.

Tickets are $5 per person at the door; children age 5 and under are free. Donations to Diamond Edge's scholarship fund are welcome at any time, and Food Shelf donations will be accepted at the door.

Diamond Edge's skaters come from a 40-mile radius of Willmar for weekly lessons and some extra practices to be able to present this show to the community. They're ready to show Santa and Mrs. Claus a great pre-New Year's performance.
