NEW LONDON — A ham dinner benefit for Kenzie Kelash and Brandon Ritt who were in a motorcycle accident will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the American Legion in New London. A driver in a car didn’t see them, made a U-turn and hit them on their cycle. Kelash suffered multiple injuries including a broken leg and back injuries. Ritt had multiple injuries including his right leg being amputated. Ham dinner is $10, kids' chicken strips and fries meal is $5, baked goods for sale, silent auction, bucket raffle. Donations may also be sent to Kelash-Ritt Benefit at the Lake Region Bank in New London and Willmar.

Children of Destiny Home
WILLMAR — A pasta dinner to raise money for the Children of Destiny Home in Tanzania will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Community Christian School in Willmar. Ten percent of the proceeds will go the CCS scholarship fund. Silent auction, pie auction, speakers and project presentation. Tickets are $10 for adults and $3 for kids. WILLMAR — The Friends of the Library used book sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Willmar Public Library.
WILLMAR — The Willmar Noon Lions will serve Dad’s Belgian Waffles from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Willmar Community Center. Waffles with toppings, sausage, juice, coffee and milk. Adult tickets are $8, ages 5-12 are $5, under 5 eat free.
Dancing with the Atwater Area Stars
GROVE CITY — The Atwater Area Help for Seniors presents Dancing with the Atwater Area Stars at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School in Grove City. Six local couples will participate in the dancing. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for pre-show event. Advance tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for students; both are $10 more at the door. Free paper shredding
WILLMAR — The annual paper shredding event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 28, at Kensington Bank, 2800 First St. S. in Willmar. West Central Shredding will shred paper documents for free. Food and cash donations accepted for the Willmar Area Food Shelf.
Food for Kidz
NEW LONDON — A turkey dinner with all the trimmings and homemade dessert will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-10 and under 5 eat free. The proceeds will support the Food for Kidz packaging event in November.
Willmar Senior Club
WILLMAR — The Willmar Area Senior Club annual craft and gift bazaar from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Willmar Community Center. Handicrafts, attic treasures, bake sale, and more. Lunch will be served all day.
Blue Star Mothers
WILLMAR — Blue Star Mothers Willmar Chapter 1 meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Willmar Army Reserve. The parents of military meet for support and to pack boxes to send to deployed troops. They are collecting snacks, hygiene products, paperback novels and notes to be included in the packages. Donation boxes are available at Heritage Bank and the Willmar Army Reserve. New London-Spicer Area Fund
NEW LONDON — The New London-Spicer Area Fund has opened its grant round to fund programs for projects that fit within the categories of arts, healthy communities and lifestyles, environment and large-scale and sustainable initiatives. WILLMAR — E-quip Africa in Willmar is accepting newer, smaller computers such as laptops and slim or compact desktops which are easier to ship. All computers need their original power supplies, cords, keyboards and mice and be in good working condition. They need to be Windows machines running Windows 7, 8.1 or 10.
