Milan Village Arts

Focaccia bread: Nov. 12, 1 to 5 p.m., with instructor Maureen Hark. For beginner and above; ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent. Using an easy, no-knead recipe, we will learn to make focaccia, a flat Italian bread that bakes up quickly and can be easily dressed up with a variety of ingredients. We will go through the basics of mixing, shaping and baking the dough both in a traditional oven and, weather permitting, we will fire up the Milan Village Arts School wood-fired oven. Participants will go home with a batch of dough and a lot of ideas. Bring a large bowl and an apron. Tuition is $65, supplies included. Registration deadline is Oct. 29.

Holiday cookie sampler: Dec. 3, 1 to 5 p.m., with instructor Maureen Hark. For beginner and above; ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent. Class will divide into four groups and each group will make a different cookie that will be shared at the end of the class — everyone going home with a delicious sampling of cookies to make for the holidays: Krumkake filled with Cloudberry Cream, Sandbakkels with Fresh Fruit, Almond Biscotti Drizzled with Chocolate and Pecan Shortbread. The instructor will let you know ahead of time what to bring to class. Tuition is $70, supplies included. Registration deadline is Nov. 12.

WILLMAR — Advance registration is required for all the classes, register online at www.cewillmarmn.com or in person at Jefferson Learning Center.

Crazy cake pops: Nov. 4, 4 to 5:30 p.m., Jefferson Learning Center, kindergarten through fifth grade with instructor Charlene Bzdok. Learn how to read a recipe and follow directions to create cake pops, how to melt candy melts and kitchen safety. There will be some pops to bring home. Limited space available.

Winter holiday cookie decorating: Nov. 23, 4 to 5:30 p.m., Jefferson Learning Center, kindergarten through fifth grade with instructor Charlene Bzdok. Winter, holiday-themed cookie decorating, with some to bring home and a class activity while the cookies are drying. Limited space available.

Becker Market

WILLMAR — Becker Market offers several ways to buy locally grown food. The store is part of Fabulous Finds, 414 Becker Ave. S.W., downtown Willmar, and is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It participates with nine other markets through Renewing The Countryside to aggregate farmers market products.
