Partners in Ag Innovation Conference: July 30, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., virtual live stream, free for ag producers and agribusiness professionals. The MinnWest Technology Campus and the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission are joining forces to co-host the virtual conference. When launched 10 years ago, the conference focused on animal science startups and evolved to a broader focus on agriculture and animal science. This year's virtual conference will focus on coming together as an industry and community and promoting the region as a vibrant agriculture cluster. Farm Beginnings: Sept. 1 is the deadline for applications for the Farm Beginnings class that starts in October. The 12-month training session helps beginning farmers clarify their goals and strengths, establish a strong enterprise plan and start building their operation. Horticulture Night: July 30, 5 p.m., University of Minnesota’s West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be online and include virtual tours of the garden and hands-on demonstrations from the backyards of horticulture experts.
