Michael Lyne joined the West Central Tribune as a sports reporter in June 2022, following his graduation from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he graduated with a bachelors degree in journalism and a minor degree in Spanish studies.

Michael was a sports reporter at the Minnesota Daily during his time at the University of Minnesota. His main sports beats were Gophers soccer, men's hockey, and men's and women's gymnastics.

Michael also interned with a handful of media companies in the Twin Cities — MLatino Media, the Pioneer Press and MinnPost — and freelanced a story for USAHockey during his undergraduate career.

Michael speaks English (primary language) and shows proficiency in Spanish (secondary language).

Michael grew up in Eagan, Minn. His pronouns are he/him/his.
