ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP -- Two people were arrested Monday after investigators seized more than 22 pounds of marijuana from residence in Stearns County.
According to a news release from the Stearn's County Sheriff's Office, German Montiel-Lira, 26, and Elvia Camacho Meraz, 29, both of St. Cloud, were arrested after a search warrant was served Monday at 76 Arbor St. in Bel Clare Acres Estates in St. Joseph Township.
Investigators located 19 one-pound bags of marijuana, along with other miscellaneous marijuana, street valued at $60,000. Two loaded handguns were also located in the residence, with one of the handguns found below the television in the living room within easy reach of children. Packaging materials, a scale, and cutting agents involved in the distribution of cocaine were also located in the residence, along with cash totaling $7,799.
Stearns County Social Services were notified that two or three children were living at the residence where there was access to controlled substances and firearms.
Another search warrant conducted at 22 Arbor St. in Bel Clare Acres Estates the two maintained revealed a quantity of methamphetamine.
