NEW LONDON -- A two-vehicle accident resulting in an overturned semi has closed U.S. Highway 71 and Kandiyohi County Road 40.
Reports from the scene indicate that an emergency helicopter has landed on the highway and is waiting to move victims still being extracted from the vehicles.
The site of the accident is about two blocks north of the intersection of the highway and county road.
The semi is overturned in a ditch and diesel fuel is leaking from it, according to a Tribune reporter on the scene.
