WHO'S GONE
Sara Krueger, MVP and state qualifier as a junior, plus Jessica Boeschen and Staci Gregg graduated. Three-time letterwinner Jenna Loeppke, committing her energies to art and music, will not compete her senior year but has been helping the coaching staff. Krueger and Gregg, both attending Ridgewater College, have been working with the junior high program.
SEASON OUTLOOK
A young team without a senior that will be outperformed most nights while it builds toward the future ... Junior Caitlin Cooreman and sophomore Brooke Feichtinger are the lone returning varsity letterwinners. Cooreman was all-CLC vault and honorable mention for beam and all-around ... The biggest numbers are in the sophomore class (8), though several have minimum experience ... Four seventh and eighth graders will be tapped for junior varsity, perhaps even some varsity.
FROM THE COACH
Larry Selchow comments: "We have Caitlin Cooreman and Brooke Feichtinger back with varsity experience. Brooke and Caitlin both have potential to be All-CLC and reach state. The rest of the (varsity) squad will be new after our graduation losses. Amanda Schwantes should work into a couple of events. Newcomers Bethany Pollack and Brooke Barrett figure to be strong contributors. We open with St. Cloud Tech, the CLC champs, at home. The Tigers will be tough and so will Brainerd. After that, it's anyone's game."
