Authorities now rule suspicious death in Montevideo on Monday is homicide

MONTEVIDEO – Authorities are now ruling the death of Thomas Dickson, 64, on Monday in Montevideo as a homicide, Police Chief Adam Christropher announced shortly before noon on Saturday.

                Dickson’s body had been reportedly found about 10:15 p.m. on Monday in his upstairs apartment in an apartment building on Canyon Avenue, one block from the city’s Main Street. Police initially termed the death suspicious, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension had been called to the scene with its mobile crime laboratory.

                The victim’s body had been transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office, and investigators had been waiting for a report from the office.

                Chief Christopher said the cause of Dickson’s death is not being released at this time.

                He added that police do not believe there is any risk to the public.
