BATTLE LAKE, Minn. – Authorities in western Minnesota say buffaloes trampled two young boys who wandered into a fenced-in area near here, west of Amor, on Friday morning.
The Otter Tail County sheriff’s office says the boys, both age 3, wandered Friday from their Battle Lake home into a secure area where the buffalo were being kept.
The boys’ mother found the children, but not before the boys were trampled by several of the buffalo.
The owner of the buffalo told WDAY-TV that he goes to great lengths to keep people from the area. He said he put up a 6-foot fence that could hold back a car.
The fence held buffalo and calves.
