Del Taco adds turkey by Jennie-O to its menu
WILLMAR — Jennie-O Turkey Store of Willmar and Del Taco LLC of Lake Forest, California, announce they have teamed up to develop lean, seasoned ground turkey as a protein option in Del Taco’s menu items.
According to a joint announcement, the turkey option will be available at the nearly 550 Del Taco locations nationwide beginning Dec. 30. The announcement said turkey offers the same flavor as beef, but has 33 percent less fat than beef.
“We are excited to bring Jennie-O Turkey into our restaurants at the end of December,’’ said John Cappasola, Del Taco LLC executive vice president and chief brand officer. “Our guests expect great-tasting food made to order with fresh ingredients, and partnering with the Jennie-O brand further demonstrates our commitment to providing high quality menu items without sacrificing flavor.”
Del Taco will highlight turkey best-sellers such as the Turkey Tacos, Turkey Combo Burrito, Turkey CrunchTada Tostada and the Deluxe Turkey Taco Salad.
