The public has a chance to own a unique piece of Rice Memorial Hospital history.
When the hospital's original wing, dating to 1937, was demolished this past summer, about 1,000 of the bricks were salvaged.
These bricks now are being sold by the Rice Health Foundation as keepsakes. Each brick contains a commemorative brass plaque with a sketch of the original hospital building.
The bricks are $25 each. They can be obtained from the Rice Health Foundation at Rice Memorial Hospital. The foundation office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The bricks will be available for as long as the supply lasts.
