Accident Monday near Willmar injures two

A 15-year-old driver of a vehicle and a 42-year-old passenger were injured when their vehicle collided with another Monday night east of Willmar.

WILLMAR – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night east of Willmar.

The accident was reported at 5:54 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 12 and 45th Street Southeast.

According to the State Patrol, a 2010 Toyota Venza, driven by Hanna Joy Herzog, 15, of Willmar, was going north on 45th Street and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Highway 12 and collided with a 2004 GMC Yukon that was going east on Highway 12.

Herzog and a passenger, Lynn Rachelle Herzog, 42, of Willmar, were taken to Carris Health-Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the accident report.

The driver of the Yukon, Jaren Michael Olson, 44, and two passengers, Theresa Lyn Fuchs, 41, and Brody Owen Olson, 7, all from Hawick, were not injured.

Roads were dry at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor. All parties were wearing seat belts.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
