Accident injures New London woman
NEW LONDON – A New London woman was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when the vehicle she was riding in collided with a semi.
The accident happened at 12:55 p.m. at the intersection of state Highway 23 and state Highway 9.
According to the State Patrol, a 2003 Ford pickup, driven by Duaine Lawrence Nelson, 85, of New London, was turning north onto Highway 23 from state Highway 9 when it collided with a 2007 Peterbilt semi ,driven by Christopher Lee Reiman, 37, of New Munich, that was going north on Highway 23.
A passenger in the pickup, Rosella Renae Nelson, 84, was taken to Centracare Hospital in St. Cloud with life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Reiman was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with non-life-threatening injuries.
Duaine Nelson was not injured.
