One injured in crash near Belgrade

BELGRADE – One person was injured in a crash late Friday afternoon at the junction of U.S. Highway 71 and Highway 55 near Belgrade.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2010 Pontiac G6 was southbound on Highway 71, stopped at the intersection with Highway 55 and then pulled out in front of an oncoming 2002 Ford pickup that was westbound on Highway 55.

The driver of the Pontiac, 25-year-old Katelyn Mccartney Rock of Belgrade, was taken to Melrose Hospital for treatment of injuries. The report said she was wearing her seat belt.

The pickup’s driver, Grant E. Anderson, 36, of Belgrade, was not injured. The report said he was not wearing a seat belt.

The State Patrol said alcohol was not a factor. The agency was assisted at the scene by Belgrade Fire and Rescue and Glacial Ridge Ambulance.
