Cold Spring man hurt in Willmar Township crash

WILLMAR – A 37-year-old Cold Spring man suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on the Highway 71 ramp to U.S. Highway 12 in Willmar Township at 5:11 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Matthew Scott Barak, of Cold Spring, was treated at Rice Memorial Hospital.

A 2003 Subaru Outback driven by Michael Denis Walkow, 49, of Willmar, was traveling west on Highway 12 and approaching Highway 71. A 2013 Honda CRV driven by Barak was stopped on Highway 71 at Highway 12. The CRV began to make a left turn when it was struck by the Outback, according to the State Patrol.

The airbags deployed in both vehicles and the drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
