Motorcyclist dies in crash with pickup in north-central Minnesota
PEQUOT LAKES, Minn.—A 48-year-old north-central Minnesota man died after the motorcycle he drove collided with a pickup truck Friday afternoon, Sept. 7.
The Pequot Lakes Police Department responded to the crash at 3:44 p.m.on a county highway. According to a news release, the crash occurred when a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound made a left turn in front of an oncoming 2018 Ducati motorcycle. The pickup truck, driven by a 69-year-old Pine River man, hit the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist from East Gull Lake was pronounced dead at the scene. Responding agencies included Breezy Point Police Department, Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Pequot Lakes Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance Service. The Pequot Lakes Police Department is investigating the fatal crash with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol.
The names of those involved in the crash were withheld Friday, pending notification of family.
