MARIETTA – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in western Lac qui Parle County.
The incident was reported at 12:44 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 212 and Lac qui Parle County Road 7, which is south of Marietta and west of Dawson.
According to the State Patrol, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Alexander James Giossi, 23, of Big Stone City, South Dakota, was going south on County Road 7 when it collided with a 2019 Ford F150 pickup driven by Steven L. Johnson, 68, of New Auburn, Wisconsin, that was going west on Highway 212.
Giossi was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Johnson and two passengers, Robert J. Travis, 61, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Marc Steven Wiesner, 62, of New Auburn, were taken to Johnson Memorial Health Services in Dawson with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Ambulance, Madison Fire Department and Dawson Ambulance assisted at the scene.
