GROVE CITY – Two people were injured early Wednesday morning north of Grove City when a disabled vehicle that was parked on the side of the road was struck from behind by another vehicle.

The accident was reported at 3:51 a.m.. on State Highway 4 at 300th Street in Swede Grove Township.

According to the State Patrol, a 2001 Chevy Suburban driven by Vincent Gilbert Sanchez, 52, of Buffalo Lake, was parked on the shoulder of northbound Highway 4 with vehicle trouble when it was struck by a northbound 2004 Cadillac Escalade driven by Rob William Pederson, 59, of Hawick.

Sanchez, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pederson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, had non-life-threatening injuries but was not taken to a medical facility, according to the State Patrol.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the report and roads were dry at the time.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
