Meeker County crash injures one

LITCHFIELD — One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening at the intersection of Meeker County Roads 14 and 18 in Ellsworth Township.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by Caleb Savoie, 16, of Cokato, was apparently attempting to make a turn and pulled in front of a vehicle driven by Joshua Compton, 34, of Hutchinson.

Compton was taken to the hospital in Hutchinson for treatment of injuries. The other driver was unhurt.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Dassel Fire and Rescue and Allina Ambulance.

Stolen vehicles

WILLMAR — Two vehicles were reported stolen this week in Willmar. One vehicle was recovered.

According to police reports, a 2005 Pontiac Vibe was reported stolen at 7:40 a.m. Monday from the 3000 block of 15th Avenue Northwest. The homeowner told police the vehicle was running in the garage, with the door open, when it was taken.

A 2009 Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen at 7:49 a.m. Tuesday from the 700 block of Mary Avenue. The vehicle was later recovered at an unspecified area in Kandiyohi County.

Vandalism

WILLMAR — Windows on two vehicles were broken and wallets were stolen from the vehicles during an incident reported at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of Fifth Avenue Northwest.

Arrest

WILLMAR — After responding to a report of a vehicle parked in the middle of the road on Pacific Avenue and 10th Street Southwest, police discovered the driver asleep at the wheel. The 19-year-old male driver was arrested on charges of fourth-degree driving while impaired and open bottle.

Theft

WILLMAR — An individual told police that while he was in jail, an unspecified number of items were stolen from his residence. The report was filed at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday.

WILLMAR — A woman reported possible theft of a diamond ring at 4:41 p.m. Monday. A location of where the theft happened was not included in the report.
