NEW LONDON – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and state Highway 9 west of New London.
According to the State Patrol, a 2016 Ford Escape driven by Tamara Mae Ruedebusch, 27, of Sartell, was going east on Highway 9 when it collided with a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by Charles Edward Ampe, 64, of Belgrade, that was going north on Highway 71.
Ampe was taken to Carris – Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with non-life-threatening injuries and Ruedebusch was taken to CentraCare Hospital in Paynesville with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Both individuals were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the accident report. Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, which was reported at 3:35 p.m.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
