WILLMAR — Five people were hurt in a one-vehicle accident just outside of Willmar on Saturday night.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office reported that the driver and four passengers were transported to Carris Health - Rice Memorial Hospital for various levels of injuries sustained in the crash.

Their vehicle left the roadway on the 1000 block of County Road 9 outside of Willmar at 10:29 p.m. on Saturday. It came to a rest on its hood.

Deputies responding to the crash located five occupants that had been in the vehicle. They include the driver, Matthew Monson, 44, of Willmar, and passengers: Cole Monson, 21, of Willmar; Ian Carruthers, 21, of Atwater; Levi Hauser, 23, of Raymond; and a 15-year-old juvenile from Willmar.

The conditions of the individuals are unknown at this time.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting the Sheriff’s office were CentraCare EMS, Atwater Ambulance, Willmar Fire Department, Atwater Fire Department, and the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad.
