GROVE CITY – The Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City School District was named a National Blue Ribbon School today by the U.S. Department of Education.

The recognition is for improvements in the K-6 grades for closing the achievement gaps among student subgroups.

ACGC is one of eight schools in Minnesota, and one of 337 schools nationwide, to receive the award this year.

“It’s amazing recognition, not only for the students, but also for the staff that works with them,” said K-6 Principal Kodi Goracke.

District officials will travel to Washington, D.C. in November to receive the award.
