HOLLOWAY -- Agnes Byre, 98, of Holloway died Monday at Appleton Area Health Services.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton.
She was born March 11, 1909, in Hegbert Township, Swift County, to Andrew and Anne (Pladsen) Stenstuen. She attended rural schools through the eighth grade.

She married Palmer Byre on Oct. 27, 1930. They farmed in Hegbert Township until 1966. They remained on the farm until 1987 when they moved to Holloway.
She is survived by four children: Audrey (and Elmer) Schlieman of Appleton, Eileen Giese of Windom, Clarice (and Neil) Perseke of Dawson, and Donald (and Karen) Byre of Holloway; 17 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; infant son: Duane; an infant granddaughter; two grandsons; her son-in-law: Lyndon Giese; three sisters in infancy; six sisters and five brothers.
