MILAN -- Akostin P. Herman, 41, of Milan died Thursday at Appleton Area Health Services.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kviteseid Lutheran Church, Milan.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church and one hour prior to the service. Zniewski Funeral Home - Vaala Chapel of Appleton is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 19, 1965, at Romalum, Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, to Pio and Rosania (Ranu) Herman. He graduated from Chuuk High School in 1983.
On Jan. 19, 1997, he married Kristina Komonu at Romalum. While living in Micronesia, he worked as a policeman for the Romalum Municipality. After moving to Milan, he worked at the cheese plant in Dawson.

He is survived by his wife; six children: Erika, Kinenta, Apson, Chrisa, Akson and Matthew Herman, all of Milan; four brothers: Edwin (and Sita) Herman of Milan, Topias (and Flori "Dan") Herman of Romalum, Sarafin Herman of Oahu, Hawaii, and Norenzo (and Martina) Herman of Romalum; three sisters: Rosemary (and Iowakim) Eitipei of Romalum, Noriana (and Justin) Elias of Romalum, and Rosaninta Herman of Oahu.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
