WILLMAR -- The Willmar Cardinals, who couldn't contain Alexandria Tuesday night at the Civic Center, will face an even bigger chore Thursday.
Alexandria left town with a 4-0 Central Lakes Conference win in boys hockey, holding Willmar to 14 shots on their goalie Geoff Bruzik.
Thursday Willmar is at Little Falls to face the high-scoring Flyers, whose five wins going into last night's action included a 6-1 victory over this same Alexandria unit.
"Little Falls has one to the best lines in the state," said Willmar coach Reed Larson after his team was shutout for the second time this year. "We've got to get our ship righted quickly."
Willmar played Alexandria even through one period, but trailed 1-0. Starting in the second period the visitors started winning the race to the puck while looking a step quicker.
