MONTEVIDEO -- Alice E. Roder, 90, of Montevideo died Friday at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital after a battle with cancer.

The service is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Entombment will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to services at the church. Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 5, 1915, in Milbank, S.D., to Fredrick and Emma (Geckler) Tulowetzke. She attended country schools in Milbank through the seventh grade.

On March 25, 1935, she married Leonard J. Roder in Minneapolis.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, ladies aid, and Bible study.

She is survived by her children: Arlen (and Anita) Roder of Sycamore, Ill., Roger (and Gloria) Roder of Wayzata, Timothy Roder of Montevideo, Allan Roder of Hanley Falls, and Arleth (and Scott) Torgeson of Watson; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sister: Betty Erickson of Milbank, S.D.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1995; sons Glenn, Leon and David; five brothers; and four sisters.
