WILLMAR -- Alice Genevieve Thompson, 89, of Willmar died Sunday at her home in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer. Burial will be in the Spicer City Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Memorials are preferred to Rice Hospice.

She was born April 20, 1918, in Green Lake Township to William and Lillie (Haverly) Jacobson. She grew up and attended school in Green Lake Township.
On May 1, 1944, she married Bennie Thompson in Willmar. They lived and farmed near Maynard for three years and south of Willmar for one year. In 1948, they purchased a farm in rural Spicer, where they lived and farmed until 1985. In May 1985, she moved to Willmar. She later lived at the Cottonwood Apartments in Spicer for four years. In March, she returned to Willmar to live at Valleybrook. She worked as a custodian at Sharon Lutheran Church in Spicer, Andy's Café in Spicer, the Spicer Boarding House on the north side of Green Lake and at Jennie-O Foods for 13 years. She was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church in Spicer, Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer and later Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar.
She is survived by a son: Curtis (and Pat) Thompson of Spicer; three daughters: Ardis (and John) Lindquist of Pennock, Lila (and Darrell) Peterson of Willmar and Linda Olsen (and special friend Paul Ganske) of Marshall; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; one brother; and one sister.
