STARBUCK -- Alice Jacobson, 99, of Starbuck died Monday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Starbuck Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to Fron Lutheran Church.

She was born May 10, 1909, in LeRoy Township, Bremer County, Iowa, to August and Mary (Tegtmeier) Geffert. She attended country school in LeRoy Township and Tripoli, Iowa, High School. For several years she was employed at Pries Food Market in Summer, Iowa.
On July 20, 1935, she married William Jacobson. They lived in St. Paul for a short time and then moved to Montevideo, where they established the Jacobson Paint and Wallpaper Store. They owned and operated the store until 1969, when they retired. Following retirement, they moved to a home on Lake Minnewaska. Her husband died on May 23, 1970. She lived on the lake until 1976, when she moved to the Manor Apartments in Starbuck.
In Montevideo, she was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was active in the church library, circle and other church activities. She was also a member of the Lioness Club and worked with the Girl Scout programs. Since moving to Starbuck, she had been a member of Fron Lutheran Church, where she served on WELCA, Bible Study and the serving circle. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and for many years was an active volunteer at the Starbuck Nursing Home.
She is survived by one son: Jerome Jacobson of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Laura (and Elden) Clewell of Plain Field, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter: Jane Sagnes; three sisters; and one brother.
