MONTEVIDEO -- Alice Lillian Hanson, 97, of Montevideo died Tuesday at the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.

She was born April 28, 1908, in Montevideo to Andrew and Anna Noard. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1926. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1928 and was Worthy Matron in 1932. She worked at Tomhave's Drug Store for nine years, and then worked at Union State Bank until January of 1941.

She married Peter Hanson on Sept. 21, 1940. They lived in Montevideo until 1966, when they moved out to Sparta Township. She became Chippewa County Auditor in 1953 and held the position for 23 years. She retired and accepted a position as treasurer for the Sparta Township Board. She moved to Copper Glen in 1999, Brookside Manor in 2003, and to the Clarkfield Care Center in September.

She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and circle.

She is survived by her children: Geraldine (and Ronald) Lovehaug of Maple Grove, Loren (and Barbara) Hanson of Plymouth; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; one sister and one brother.
